Over the course of two semesters, The Mill students worked with Merriweather Arts and Culture Center to create and implement ways to communicate the history and tell the story of Merriweather.
The Fall 2024 students visited Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Enoch Pratt Library to research the history of Merriweather Post Pavilion and the Columbia area. Through this research, they developed unique strategies for telling Merriweather's story, including a community archive website, "Merriweather Memories," located at www.merriweathermemories.org for people to submit their favorite photos to, merchandise, and a podcast for Merriweather friends and employees to share their favorite stories.

Students in the Spring 2025 spent the semester implementing and creating deliverables for these ideas. After another visit to Merriweather, students began working on bringing the ideas to life, producing the "Merriweather Memories" site, merchandise designs, "The MerriCast" podcast, and a timeline of history folded into zines for community members to take with them.

Students in the Spring 2025 also participated in the annual MACC Bash for Merriweather Arts and Culture Center on March 28th, 2025. This event allowed students to share their progress on the work they have been doing, showcase the new community archive site, get feedback on merchandise designs from friends of Merriweather, and even interview people for the first episode of "The MerriCast."
